Maria Patterson, MD is an experienced pediatric ophthalmologist who provides accurate eye exams and treatment plans for young children to obtain the best vision outcomes. She takes the time to explain your child’s diagnosis and her recommendations starting at the first eye exam. We believe that all children should be treated as our own. About Dr. Patterson
Dr. Patterson is on staff and performs surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and other local hospitals. She is recognized as a premier pediatric ophthalmologist and surgeon in southeast Wisconsin. She received her MD degree and ophthalmology residency training at the top-ranked University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Patterson completed her surgical training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at the internationally renowned Duke Eye Center in North Carolina. As a pediatric eye subspecialist, she is experienced in the management of strabismus (pediatric and adult eye misalignments), amblyopia (lazy vision or eye), genetic eye diseases, pediatric cataracts, blocked tear ducts and anything else that can affect a child's eyes. She is board certified in Ophthalmology and an active member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. In addition, she is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Wisconsin Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Waukesha County Medical Society. She is a past-president of the Milwaukee Ophthalmological Society. Dr. Patterson and her husband, Andy, live in Brookfield and have two children in college, Sam and Katina. They are actively involved in their church and community. |
Since 2001, Dr. Patterson has practiced at the Children’s Eye Center in Brookfield to provide advanced care and treatment for all pediatric eye problems and adult strabismus.
